Hungry for change?

26 September 2022

Did you know that MORE THAN 1/3 of all food produced globally is wasted every year?

For the UN’s International Day of Awareness for Food Loss and Waste (#FLWDAY) on September 29th, we’ve partnered up with Too Good To Go to raise awareness of the issue and inspire action.

Want to get involved?

We’re hosting a lunch event at Tortilla Charing Cross to feed your mind, body and soul. Our pals at Too Good To Go will be at the store between 11.30-12.30 to chat to you about food waste. Register to find out more about preventing food waste here.

What is Too Good To Go?

TGTG’s mission? To make sure good food gets eaten, not wasted. Every day, delicious, fresh food goes to waste at cafes, restaurants, hotels, shops and manufacturers - just because it hasn’t sold in time. The Too Good To Go app lets customers buy and collect Magic Bags of this food - at a great prices - directly from businesses. (Ours is just £3!)

We partnered with Too Good To Go in March and have now rolled it out across all our stores. To date their magic bags have saved 15,109 meals – the equivalent of 37.77 tonnes of CO2, the equivalent C02 needed to power seven flights around the world or 6.6 million smartphone charges.

We aren’t experts on this and have so much more we want to improve on, which is why we are working with Too Good To Go to ensure we can be the best we can be! If you want to find out more, click on the Too Good To Go link at the bottom of the page and we will leave you in their capable hands for all things food waste. Our partnership with Too Good To Go is the first of many steps we are taking to improve our sustainability journey & vision. Read our Impact Report to find out more.
